Valley’s Own Bakehouse started with our parent company, Valley Natural Foods Co-op, making Valley’s Own a co-op as well. Valley Natural Foods has been a co-op in the Twin Cities south metro area since 1977 and has grown to be voted one of Minnesota’s Best Grocery Stores of 2021 & 2022, with a focus on making everyone feel welcome when visiting the store and having the values of community, authenticity, diversity and well-being.
With our co-op values in serving our community, we noticed a need for gluten-free goods that delivered on both quality and taste. In 2011, we started by opening our first bakehouse and over the years the growing demand for our products led us to open a bigger bakehouse facility in 2021 in Rosemount, MN. We also established a relationship with Kakookies and produced for them in our bakehouse until the retirement of the founders in 2022, when we purchased Kakookies.
